Indiana University's Biotechnology and Research Training Center (BRTC)

Located within the boundaries of 16 Tech, the BRTC is a state-of-the-art, 83,000 square foot research facility for Cellular Imaging, DNA Sequencing, Proteomics, Gene Expression, Protein Expression, Flow Cytometry and BioInformatics.

Office, wet and dry laboratories as well as clean room collaborative space is available for select non-profit and commercial based entities and life sciences service providers.

Tenants will be at the discretion of the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Infrastructure Improvements

From the beginning, the city has planned for 16 Tech's long-range development. To ensure growth and sustainability, a number of infrastructure improvements – estimated at approximately $9.7 million – are already underway in area surrounding 16 Tech.

Enhancements and new additions to the life sciences technology park include:

  • Greenways and bike routes
  • Sustainable landscape featuring indigenous plants and trees
  • A multi-modal technology trail
  • Bioswales throughout Helix Park to ensure the removal of silt and pollution from surface runoff water
